Dua Lipa was born 22nd August, 1995 in London, United Kingdom. The self-titled debut album was released in 2017 after she had joined Warner Bros Records. The album climbed to No. 3 in the U.K. Charts. There were eight singles released including Be the 1 I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as sixth in the charts. Lipa's album, which has since been recognized as Platinum in several countries around the world has won the two Brit Awards (in 2018) in the categories of British Female Single Artist and British Breakthrough artist. Dua Lipa was born at the age of 18 in London by Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin Lilipa (father). Her parents are of Bosnian descent by her maternal grandmother. It is possible to trace her family's roots back to Peja the city of Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Her siblings are Rina Gjin and Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who is the principal guitar player and the singer of the Kosovan the group Oda. When she was at home, her father would perform his original compositions along with songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started to sing when she was just six years old. At the age of nine years old, Lipa started to sing at the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa sang in the song If I'm Not gone You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa was signed to Warner Bros. Records a contract in the year 2014. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
