KellyKelly Clarkson in her full Kelly Brianne Clarkson was an American artist and performer who became famous after she was crowned American Idol's 2002 talent competition. Clarkson was born at Burleson, Texas, a suburb in Fort Worth, where her voice was first noticed by the school's teacher of choir at the age of a seventh grader. Following her graduation from high school Clarkson went into Los Angeles to try to become a showbiz. When she returned to Texas Clarkson was an contestant in the inaugural season of American Idol, a show broadcast by the Fox Broadcasting Company. American Idol, a singing competition where viewers could decide which singer they liked best. Clarkson was adored by the viewers because of her charismatic voice and wit. Clarkson's prize was $1 million, and she also signed a recording agreement with RCA.
