sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was born on July 6, 1946, as Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. He's the elder child of the Italian born Francesco "Frank" Stallone Sr who was a hairdresser and Jackie Stallone, an astrologer and dancer. He has a younger brother named Frank Stallone, who is a musician and actor. Birth complications caused the lower left portion of Sylvester's face to be affected, resulting in his now-iconic "snarling" face and somewhat slurred speech. Stallone spent some of his early years in foster homes due to his parents' volatile relationship. They split later. Stallone studied drama at the American College in Switzerland before making the move to the University of Miami. He left the school before completing his degree and moved to New York City to pursue acting as a career.
